The best book design from all over the world

FÍT in collaboration with The Museum of Design and Applied Art introduce The best book design from all over the World. The Stiftung Buchkunst - a German book design association - has awarded the prize every year since 1963. This time books from 30 countries were submitted. Fourteen books received prizes and they can all be viewed at the exhibition.

Katla and Jóhanna are recently gratuated from the graphic design from the University of Arts. The worskhop is based on their graduation projects.
Katla uses clay, food and other everyday items that transform into letters.
Jóhanna made new patterns with the help of Sjónabókin and an algorythm. Guests can make those patterns with beads.
Everyone is welcome to this fun workshop.

Sunday October 5th at 2 pm, professor in graphic design Guðmundur Oddur Magnússon, Goddur, will give a guied tour on Hjalti Karlsson's works. This is the last day of the exhibition that came from Röhsska, the Swedish Museum of Design in Gothenburg. Hjalti was awarded last year the presticious Nordic Torsten and Wanja Söderbergprize.

Gísli B. - Five decades in graphic design

Gísli B. is truly one of the most dynamic graphic designers in the history of 20th century Icelandic design. After returning from his studies in Germany in 1961, Gísli founded an advertising agency and a year later also founded a special department for advertising illustration at the Icelandic College of Art and Crafts—a faculty which today is the department of graphic design at the Iceland Academy of Arts.
